FACILITATION ACADEMY |
Facilitation Academy vol.2
Background
The first edition of Facilitation Academy was a big success in 2015, where the participants had chance to develop their competences through an intensive training course about group dynamics and facilitation skills. The Academy in 2015 focused on participants who are interested about the content but haven’t had chance to gain experience in that, so beginners had chance to apply. However the training course let participants to try out everything in real as well (participants designed and run their own workshop during the TC) it was not enough to reach a high development in individual level.
Thanks to the great success the Federation of Children’s and Youth Municipal Councils decided to continue this program by applying for Erasmus+ program.
Vol.2.
The second edition of the Academy will be more complex and will focus mostly on junior trainers, beginners in trainer role. Preferably for those participants who has at least one experience in being facilitator’s role (likely those who has facilitated workshops previously). We also would like to strengthen the responsibility of partner organizations and build a stronger cooperation with them, as it’s essential to have a support for participants who take part in the training course. The Academy will also highlight the importance of practice, thus we are going to apply for fund for a youth exchange which will be 3 months after the TC and participant from the TC will be invited to take a role as facilitators.
About the content:
During the training course we will start with an intensive competence developing part with a general focus on facilitation, group work, and group dynamics. That will be mostly a provided professional input from the trainers. Then at the second part we will focus on the individual development of all participants with a special focus on youth work. Non-formal education and experiential learning will be the used methods, and about different things all participants will get handouts. The aim of the training course is to train youth worker who are eager to fulfil their facilitation skills and to “prepare” them to organize a youth exchange on their own.
For the youth exchange we will provide a framework and topic as it’s required when applying, but we want our participants to decide most of the things according to that.
The trainers are Barnabas Gulyás and Vanda Kovács (both can be found at SALTO TOY) who are experienced trainers in youth work field. Junior trainers will be added to the team as well.
